South Africa in February

South Africa is an exciting journey that has been requested by many. South Africa is a wine country where you always meets with positiveness and enthusiasm. The wine productions have 350 years ancestry . You will first have a couple of intensive days where you will see and experience some of the best things that the area have to offer. In the last days of the South Africa journey you will get the opportunity to pick som activites to do on your own.
Included: Return flight from Stockholm (Arlanda), Gothenburg (Landvetter) or Copenhagen (Kastrup). Modern tourist bus in South Africa. Housing in double room according to the program. All the wine tastings and guiding of the wine yards. Breakfast and Lunch with several courses or Dinner. (Always with wine included).
Except day 6,8,9 and 10 where only breakfast is included.

Day 1
Departures from Arlanda, Landvetter or Kastrup towards South Africa.






Day 3
After a grand breakfast we feel that we are ready to throw ourselves over the wineyards in Stellenbosch. Vergelegen, well known and impressive wine producer will take care of us. Their new facility is well worth seeing and the wines which have won many prestigious awards are truly wonderfull. Their Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah and not least their blend of bordeaux grapes are splendid. We eat a joint lunch on Vergelegen. In the afternoon two exceptional producers will change our worlds. New as a producer is former golfer "The King of Swing" Ernie Els who has a facility that beats the most. After one tasting you understand that he loves Bordeaux. At Stellenboschs highest peak "Guardian Peak" we get to meet the famous rugbylegend Gerhard "Hempies" du Toit and his wine yard Annandale. This personality produces many unusual and interesting wines.
Day 5
Today we check out from Spiers and check in for a three night stay at Cape Town Lodge in central Cape Town. But before we arrive at Cape Town we will spend the day at the wine districts in Paarl and Franschoek and we will start with the well-known producer Boekenhoutskloof. After the visit and tasting we will have a joint lunch and wine tasting at the producer Rickety Bridge.
Very special Cabriére is well worth a visit. Their sparkling wine is one of the favorites and it is very exciting.
Day 7
A new exciting day where we travel to Buitenverwachting. It is established already in 1796 and have many great wines, (especially their chardonnay and Semillon wine, which are impressive). The best sweet wines from South Africa probably comes from Klein Constantia. This whole wine yard as many others ecudes a very pleasant feeling. But life is more than just wines. No, we will offcourse visit The Cape of Good Hope during this tour. A once in a lifetime experience that we will enjoy together. This is absolutely one of the highlights. This day you will eat lunch by yourselves and we will finnish the day with a great dinner at a very special high class restaurant nearby our hotel.
Day 10
Activities by your own. On the evening we travel togheter to the airport for the flight home.
Safari
We have choosen to not include Safari in the ordinary programme. This due to the fact that there are no really good Safaris in the Southern part of South Africa. If you would like to experience a real safari with animals that lives in the real wilderness we recommend the Krugerpark which is especially good. We arrange a visit with a two night stay if we have enough people interested. In those cases we travel up north in the end of the tour and then travel home through Johannesburg. This costs around 10 000 SEK per person.
Day 2
Arrival to Cape Town and travel to Stellenbosch. We live three nights at four star hotel Devon. Which except from beeing a very high class hotel is also very hospitably. It is situated in direct connection to Sylvan Vale Wineyards. In the afternoon we have our first tasting and we will give you some more general information. In the evening we eat a joint dinner togheter at the hotel.






Day 4

Another great day in the sign of wine. This day we will spend at several wine yards. The day starts at Kanonkop which is most famous for its Pinotage wines. The Pinotages are splendid wine of premium class.
Uitkyk is one of South Africas best wine yards. Can you pronounce the name? (try 8 cake) You will get the chance to enjoy an exquisite wine tasting and a joint lunch. In the first afternoon we visit the small wineyard Stellekya. Here you will find South Africas first colored female wine producer. She is well educated and has a high reputation. On the evening everyone will eat dinner on their own.

Day 6
After breakfast we stay in central Cape Town. Cape Town is very interesting and exciting with many things worth seeing on our sightseeing tour . The Table Mountain is one of the highlights. The sightseeing ends with the popular area Waterfront where you can find many stores and restaurants. At waterfront we will eat a joint lunch.
Day 8 and 9
We will check out from Cape Town Lodge and move to the fabulous and fantastic Vineyard Hotel and Spa. A high class hotel where everyone enjoys the relaxed atmosphere. Here you will get the chance to do some activities on your own that we can help you book. For example: Robben Island, Golf, sharksafari, shopping, hikes, beaches and much more!






Day 11
Back in Scandinavia with more memories than you can imagine!
